About

'At Lucid we want to share our passion for coffee, where it comes from, how it gets here, how we roast it and how it can be brewed to showcase all the wonderful characteristics of origin and the processes we have access to'. Lucid meaning - To be expressed clearly, easy to understand, Vivid. Lucid Coffee Roasters produces some of the best coffees in the world. As a well-known coffee professional and someone who enjoys learning, advising on and creating exceptional coffee, Stephen Houston founded Lucid in 2021. The goal being to break down barriers between consumer and producer, aiming to be open and transparent with every part of the business and to express clearly what the producers wanted to do with their coffee through roasting and brewing. Lucid will share prices of green coffee, roast profiles, brewing advice, staff profiles and any other points that will help you see the complexity and excitement around every cup. In his 12 years within the coffee industry Stephen has competed, judged, exhibited and talked at multiple festivals and coffee events. 'It's one of the most important aspects for Lucid, to build strong relationships and to push ourselves to provide the best coffee. Red Bourbon

Welcoming back this years fresh crop of the Rwanda Shyira, we have both the washed and the natural processes of this and love being able to offer these fantastic coffees again this year, thanks again to importers Raw Material. This natural process Red Bourbon has come from a collaboration from Raw Material and Muraho Trading co, based in the Nyamasheke District of Rwanda. The cherry is dried for 30 days, turned constantly when the sun is high and covered during the night. Once the cherry has dried, the now dried outer fruit is removed, and the coffee beans are ready to be organised for packing.
