About

Loose Bottles is our weekly cellar night. A small run of wines opened for the evening. No fixed tasting, no over-explaining, just a handful of bottles we’re into right now. a few simple plates and space to try things at your own pace. Start with your first glass and take it from there. If you like something, stay on it. If you don’t, move on. Staff will point you in the right direction but nothing’s over-explained. Each week runs as a new selection of loose bottles, styles and moods. Some easy, some a bit left-field. Come early, or don’t. It loosens up as the night goes on.

  • First glass included
  • 3–5 wines open
  • Rotating weekly selection

Els Bassotets

Celler Escoda-Sanahuja / Tossal Gros, Conca de Barberà / 2022

Chenin Blanc | Macabeu

Chenin Blanc and Macabeu growing at 450masl that sees 5 days skin contact before ageing in concrete for 12 months. A lively vintage for this wine, with plenty of vitality in the attack, accented by the classic yuzu and verbena inflections we love in Joan Ramon’s whites. An appetising, chalky grip makes this a perfect wine for the table with friends

Rosso

Samodia / Valsamoggia, Emilia-Romagna, Italy / 2024

Barbera, Sangiovese, Ancellotta, Merlot, Lambrusco Grasparossa

All the rustic charm of Emilia-Romagna reds, but with a light, nimble touch. Cherry stone and fresh strawberry from the Ancellotta, lifted by bright acidity and easy drinkability. A true vino da tavola.

Paloma

Es d’Aqui / Languedoc-Roussillon, France / 2023

Carignan, Ugni Blanc

Crunchy red and black fruit meets saline freshness. Old-vine Carignan brings concentration, while Ugni Blanc adds lift and energy. Light, chiselled and refreshing, best served lightly chilled. Low alcohol at 10%.

Ancestral de la Cristina

Celler Jordi Llorens / Blancafort, Conca de Barberà / 2023

Macabeu

Old vine macabeu growing on intensely alkaline limestone at 600 metres above sea level. Gentle maceration over four days, fermentation in stainless. The wine finished it’s sugars in bottle and spent 12 months ageing on the lees before disgorging. A crisp, chiselled ancestral with texture from the skins, the nose is lively with ripe stone fruits and toasted almonds. Wonderfully refreshing with a moreish sapidity on the finish.

Bianco

Samodia / Valsamoggia, Emilia-Romagna, Italy / 2024

Field Blend

Fragrant and supple, with apple blossom and frangipane on the nose. Subtle salinity and dewy freshness through the finish. No skin contact this year, but still gently textured thanks to very old vines across three parcels in Valsamoggia.
