La Sorga / Montagnac, Languedoc, France
Pinot Noir from 20-year-old plantings in the poudingues of Castelreng, Haute Vallée de Limoux. 34 days of maceration, then 9 months ageing in clay eggs. Bright red berries with a hint of spice on the nose, huge minerality on the palate, and the higher altitude preserving a steely acidity. The ripe core of fruit reminds us that this wine is of the south. Light red, best lightly chilled.
