La Vrille et le Papillon / Valvignères, Ardèche, France
Grenache from 2 west-facing parcels, 40 and 44 years old. Full carbonic maceration for four days with temperature control. After pressing, aged on lees in fibre for 10 months. 2000 bottles. Earthy spice and heady floral notes on the nose, with dried red fruits and typical earthy minerality. Light tannins frame a refined yet ample and refreshing palate. Best lightly chilled.
